Hi, Roma! Was on your game. New York was very good and you were spectacular! You all have put
up a great performance. Keep it up, guys. Best, Oleg Khaitov
CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!! The KVN yesterday was great. I really enjoyed it. The performance
level of two teams rose significantly, enough to compete on the world arena. However, the judging
was inadequate to say the least. Even though I'm from NYU and I wanted NYU to win and I was very
happy when it did, I left with a residue of that something was wrong. I understand that one hand
this kind of thing (Bostonians winning in Boston, New Yorkers winning in NY) is done to keep up
the spirit of the teams and kindle the frigile flame of the game. But I'm afraid that this way
might also result in decline of quality of the performance, since it kills competitiveness and
the initiative. Hopefully this is not going to happen. Well, anyhow, congratulations again.
Thanks for the show. Good luck. Serge
I believe that you wasn't so great in the last action. All my friends and me are agree that
Boston was better in it. Some of you even forgot the text. But in general pretty good, guys.
Nobody was sorry to spend $5 and whole evening. Vitaliy Razhanskiy
First of all, thanks a lot! We liked it very much. I haven't been in such an atmosphere for a
long time, probably, from my student years in Leningrad in the yearly 80's. It was like coming
back. I think some jokes were just great, like the one about the first marriage and the second.
Let us know about your future plans. Thanks again. Lenya
It was fun. It was much better then the last game in February. Good jobs guys, although at some
places I felt that the team did not prepare enough. Anyway I enjoyed it. Keep going. Good Luck.
I've just came back from KVN. In two words: WOW! It was absolutely great. If I had a hat I would
have taken it off to show my appreciation to the people who have made it happen. Thanks for the
great perfomance, Michael
The game was very good. Some moments were hilarious, others not as funny, but overall I enjoyed
it. Molodtsy, rebyata! My favourite part was the musical section "Muzykal'nyi anekdot". Another
observation I made was that many subjects were pretty much "americanized". I am not sayingit's
bad; quite on the contrary, I think there were fine examples of social and political satire,
especially from the Boston team on the subject of political correctness (perekrasit' chasti
Belogo Doma v chornyi, zholtyi, i goluboi tsveta; politically correct term dlya lopouhih, etc,
and also satire of immigrants' life here, in the States (wellfare, foodstamps, etc.). But this
might potentially make it hard to throw KBH to the international arena. Probably, the same
"localization" of subjects is true of teams at former USSR, Israel, and other "our" countries
as well. What seems funny to one team may be quite unfamiliar to the other team, as well as to
the jury and the spectators. But KBH is not at that stage yet anyway, so this is right now just
an observation; later it may become an issue that teams will have to deal with when writing KBH
scripts. Final words: thank you, both teams! Looking forward to more matches! Serge
The KVN was great and both teams did a wonderful job. Do you remember the guy who was rolling on
the floor laughing? That was me! Need I say more? I was a bit disappointed that one of the teams
won. I would prefer a tie. Well, actually the score 138:141 is a tie and it is the only way it
can be interpreted. The only thing that I didn't like were some of Efim Agliytsky's comments.
I hated when he rushed the teams come up with quick answers. Is it some kind of sport contest or
what? I would rather wait another 30 seconds but let the teams to come up with good jokes.
However Efim's joke that KVN "igraetsya s koles" makes up for his other sins. That's it. Thanks
to everyone who have made this KVN possible. Michael Mostov
Hi Roma, I didn't have a chance to send you e-mail earlier this week, but Sunday's KBH was GREAT!
I liked it. New York was really stronger than Boston -- keep it up! Are you champions now or
there are more games to go? Alik
